Sermon Series Blog: Living Proof Pt. 1
Living Proof Pt. 1
The Living Word Shapes Us | Prayer Aligns Us | We Are Living Proof of the Risen King
Have you ever tried building something without the instructions — like an IKEA shelf or a Wayfair desk — and realized too late you missed a crucial step? You end up frustrated, backtracking, and wondering why you didn’t just follow the blueprint.
That’s often how we approach life. We try to build our future, relationships, or purpose without the instruction manual God has given us — His Word. We chase feelings, social media advice, and cultural opinions, and then wonder why we feel spiritually lost, stuck, or empty.
In Psalm 119, we’re reminded that the only way to live a fulfilled life is by being anchored in God’s Word. This chapter isn’t just the longest in the Bible — it’s a passionate love letter about the power and purpose of Scripture.
1. The Word Protects
“Blessed are those… who walk according to the law of the Lord.” – Psalm 119:1
God’s blessing isn’t random — it’s tied to your path. When you follow His Word, you position yourself under His guidance and protection. Just like GPS only works if you follow it, God’s Word won’t lead you if you ignore it. Ask yourself honestly: What’s been guiding your decisions lately — God’s Word or your emotions?
2. The Word Purifies
“I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” – Psalm 119:11
God’s Word acts like guardrails — not to limit your freedom, but to protect your soul. It doesn’t just correct us when we go wrong; it keeps us from falling in the first place. Our goal isn’t just to “be better.” Our goal is to draw close to God — and purity flows from that closeness.
3. The Word Powers You
“I delight in your decrees; I will not neglect your word.” – Psalm 119:16
You crave what you consume. If your heart feels cold or distant from God, it’s likely because you’ve been feeding on the world more than the Word. Scripture isn’t a religious task — it’s fuel, strength, and truth. The more you discipline yourself to read it, the more your desire for it will grow.
We’re not called to be casual Christians. We’re called to be Living Proof — a visible, powerful testimony of the risen King.
So let His Word shape you.
Let prayer align you.
And let your life reflect Him to a world desperate for hope.
This week, don’t just read the Bible — let it read you. Let it transform you. Because you can’t live a resurrection life on a spiritually starved soul.
Let’s be the Living Proof our world needs.
