Welcome to our church!

Church in the Canary is a campus of Church in the City. It is an urban church centered in Christ providing vibrant community, a safe place to grow spiritually, and opportunities to serve others with compassion, and reach those who don’t yet know Jesus.

We strive to make Christ known in the St. Lawrence, Canary and surrounding high-rise communities of Toronto, Ontario. Living in a big city can sometimes feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to. The most important thing to us is that when you join our community, you feel safe, welcomed, and connected.

    The Canary Campus is located on the second floor of the George Brown residence, also known as ‘The George’.

    Location: 80 Cooperage Street - 2nd Floor of ‘The George’Service

    Time: 6:30 p.m

  • Meet Up

    We get it - walking into a church can be intimidating (even when the door is always open.) If you would prefer to meet one of our pastors before you come to CITC, just give us a call or send us an email. We would love to meet up and get to know you over a coffee or a cola.

You may be wondering.

  • At #CITCanary we want you to ‘COME AS YOU ARE!’ There is no entry quiz, there is no price of admission, and there are no other prerequisites required. We are a community of people who love God and love others.

    When you get to the front door, you will be greeted by our welcome team, and the first thing you may notice is our coffee bar. We will have a barista ready to serve you fresh coffee and you can enjoy some other refreshments and appetizers! After you grab your coffee, you can find any available seat and our welcome team is always available if you have any questions. Our service is modeled around worship songs, more coffee and connection time, and a message from Pastor Dan. So what you can expect on Sunday is coffee and a welcoming community that loves God and also loves others! (Matthew 22:36-40)

  • Everybody is welcome here - come exactly as you are. We welcome anyone to come join any of our Sunday services and to check out the different Life Groups and events we have during the week!

    There is no dress code at any of our gatherings, just be yourself and come meet some new friends who will love you for exactly who you are.

  • Yes! Our nursery is available for parents to use with their babies and toddlers. The nursery room has interactive toys, video feed (powerpoint), and sound so you can follow along with the teaching while spending time with your child.

    For kids (5-12), we offer a special program during the service. We have a great team of trained and thoroughly checked volunteers that teach your kids about Jesus in a fun, child-friendly way with a goal to help head knowledge become heart knowledge. Kids can join us in the service and will be dismissed to meet their program leaders part way through.

  • Always! You can contact us and we would be happy to set up a time to grab a coffee or a cola with you.

  • We have Life Groups that meet throughout the week. These groups are intimate and allow the opportunity to connect on a more personal level. We also host regular community events and have weekly programming for kids and youth.
