Welcome to Church in the Canary: Where Faith and City Life Meet

Experience Community and Faith at Church in the Canary – Downtown Toronto's Newest Spiritual Home

LOVE GOD & LOVE OTHERS

Our church is a community of people who love Jesus and want to reflect the same love of God that we receive from Him, to others.

We live out our belief that everybody is welcome and invite anyone and everyone to come as you are. Living in a big city can sometimes feel lonely, but it doesn’t have to. The most important thing to us is that when you join our community, you feel safe, welcomed, and connected.

Introduction:

  • Brief Overview: In the heart of our bustling city, a beacon of faith and community is rising—the new campus of Church In The City. This exciting development is set to become a hub in the Canary District, where individuals can learn and grow in the Christian Faith, build meaningful connections, and contribute to positive change in the community.

  • Purpose of the Post: We want to make it well known to the Canary District and surrounding high-rise areas that you are invited to church! If you are new to the city and looking for a home church, or if you have never been to church before…we want to make it known that you are welcomed at Church in the Canary!

The Mission, Vision, and Values of Church in the Canary:

  • Mission: We are an urban church centred in Christ providing vibrant community, a safe place to grow spiritually, and opportunities to serve others with compassion and reach those who don't yet know Jesus.

  • Vision: Our vision is to make Christ known in the St. Lawrence, Canary and surrounding high-rise communities of Toronto.

  • Values: Our core values include: Compassion, Mentorship, Diverse Community, Creating Hope, and Outreach

A goal of our new campus is to create a welcoming space that goes beyond traditional church boundaries. Church In The Canary will be made up of the D.N.A of our main campus and aims to provide an environment that fosters spiritual growth, inclusivity, and community engagement.

A Note From Pastor Dan:

Personally, I have never been a morning person, and as I have grown-up that hasn’t changed. Don’t get me wrong, I am passionate and love our morning services at 9 & 11 a.m. at our Main Campus, but there is something special about a service in the evening.

When my wife Liana and I, go on vacation we always plan a church to visit, if we are going to be away on a Sunday. The church we were visiting had an evening service, and we excited to sleep-in! We also found an excitement in our day, as we explored a new city, anticipating a fun evening at church, where we may not know anyone, but we can still feel at home. Going to the evening service felt like it was the focal point of my day, not somehting I am just doing on Sunday morning, because that’s just what I grew up with.

Let’s make our Sunday Evening Service, a time where we can meet together as the body of Christ and worship and praise HIm, let’s make it the focal point of our day!
